SAGIP-ILOG

Water is life. Sadly, however, many rivers of major cities have been used as dumping sites for human and industrial waste. Las Piñas has not been spared.

Las Piñas has two major river system.
Las Piñas River: 12.6 kilometers
Zapote River: 18.3 kilometers

Both linked to each other and sharing 25.1 kilometers of tributaries
wherein marine life has been lost due to pollution. The program launched on December 13, 2002 with Sen. Manny Villar donating a backhoe on a barge, a speed boat and a dump truck to celebrate his birthday. Thus far, 7.5 kilometers have been dredged, equivalent to 13% of the entire project coverage.
