Hand in hand with implementing the program components, the city government also put into place the needed policies for environmental protection.

1. Organization and strengthening the functions of concerned agencies and offices like the Environmental Sanitation Council, the Clean and Green Council, and the City Health and Engineering Departments.


2. The approval and implementation of related infrastructure projects such as the concreting and asphalt-paving of all major and secondary roads in the city. Ninety-five per cent (95%) of these had already been completed and the remaining five per cent is expected to be finished this year.


3. Legislation by the Sangguniang Panglungsod of several ordinances and resolutions related to the environmental, health and sanitation programs of the city. The body is also credited with approving the budget if the Clean and Green program which is crucial in its implementation.
